Connect Outdoors Fishing Report

“Most of the fish were caught at Clinton Lake near Clinton Illinois. Weather was cold, cloudy, windy and rain showers the 2 days I was there. Fish were caught on buzzbait, spinnerbait and jig. All fish were caught in 4' of water or less. The last fish that bumped me up was caught at Canton Lake near Canton Illinois. That fish was caught on a jig near a laydown just before I was about to give up for the day.”

Connect Outdoors Fishing Report:
The two days that I was on Lake Chickamauga, the fish were in a pre-spawn pattern and beginning to move shallow with the rising water. Water temps were in the low to mid 60s with a good stain. I had a mix of clouds and sun each day with highs in the mid 60’s.

I focused on the edges of ditches and channels that were leading into spawning pockets. The key on these ditch/creek edges was finding larger clumps of grass amongst the sporadic grass. All my fish on Chickamauga were caught by slow rolling my chatter bait until it got caught up in the clumps of grass and then ripping it free.”
